Siding Contractor Abbotsford: Home Renovation, Siding & Windows

As a siding contractor Abbotsford homeowners trust, we work with homes that face the Fraser Valley extremes: hot summers, cold snaps and open, windy land.

Local know-how

What Abbotsford homes ask of an exterior

Further up the valley, temperature swings are bigger than nearer the coast. Homes here benefit from good insulation, quality glazing and durable cladding that can handle expansion and contraction across the seasons.

Bigger temperature swings

Well-made windows and proper installation limit drafts in winter and heat gain in summer.

Farm and acreage homes

Many properties are large and exposed. We plan materials for low maintenance over the long term.

Growing neighbourhoods

Newer subdivisions often need only targeted upgrades. Older streets may want a full exterior refresh.

Permits and building rules in Abbotsford

The City of Abbotsford lists replacement of siding as work that does not need a building permit. Window and door replacement is not on that exemption list, so check with the City’s building permits team before you start, especially if you are changing an opening. The property owner is responsible for making sure any required permit is in place, even when a contractor does the work.

Rules change, so always confirm with your city before work begins.

Planning tips for Abbotsford homeowners

  • Cold snaps down the valley. In winter, cold air can funnel down the Fraser Valley, so drafts around tired windows show up quickly. Ask about glass performance and an airtight installation.
  • Summer heat matters too. After recent summer heat waves, solar heat gain is a real consideration. Ask about low-E coatings that limit the heat coming through the glass.
  • Large, exposed rural homes. Acreage properties around Matsqui, Sumas Prairie and Mt Lehman have big walls facing the weather. We look at each elevation separately.
  • Do not skip the wall check. Because siding replacement does not need a permit, it is tempting to cover what is underneath. Have the wall checked for moisture first.
  • Check rebates first. Energy-efficiency incentives may apply to new windows and doors. See our BC rebates guide before you order.
